This book connotes "The book of the Tenth Guru" of the Sikhs: the author, a great reformer, spiritual leader and unparalleled warrior, who traced his lineage to Lord Rama. After the compilation of the Dascam Granth by the Tenth Guru, it was called Chhotta Granth as compared to the Adi Granth which was called Wadda Granth.
This book consists of religious compositions in the first part and the other part mostly comprises of mythological compositions. The work has an original, forceful and fearless expression and a social and political consciousness as the Guru wants to instill such noble qualities in man, which can make him individually great and also a very healthy constituent of the society.
