This study explores three aspects of the process of globalization of Swedish industry in general-namely long-term trends, actual levels attained, and the pace or growth of globalization. From these explorations the author attempts to show whether globalization should be considered a contemporary or a historical phenomenon, and to empirically test whether the processes of change have accelerated over the last-quarter century or so.
