The present proceedings book contains a total of 68 articles. They have been either on display as posters or were presented as lectures. The volume is structured into eight sections which essentially reflect the sessions of the conference. The largest numbers of articles, 19, are in the systematics section, followed by the ecology section with 17 articles. This symposium was held under the auspices of the Humboldt-University Berlin in Potsdam. The congress venue was the campus of the Ostdeutsche Sparkassenakadmie on the shore of the Templiner Lake in the south of Potsdam. A total of 106 scientific participants from 31 countries were registered.
