In this volume, Lars Hartman covers many important topics. Some of his essays are devoted to exegetical and hermeneutical problems, such as the theoretical considerations in terms of what it means to write a review. The following essays are detailed studies of various aspects of text analysis as a preparation for his commentary on the Gospel of Mark. Furthermore, Hartman has written seminal texts on baptism, in particular with regard to the name formula. The last papers deal with the Hellenistic context of numerous texts and themes of the New Testament, such as the examination "Hellenistic elements in apocalyptic texts". This volume is an appropriate complement to Lars Hartman's collection earlier text-based studies on the New Testament from the year 1997.
