Since the Bologna Declaration, higher education in Europe is in full evolution aiming to establish more tranparency and coherence. TUNING provides a methodology - adopted by the European Commission - to reach these goals, based on the description of competences.

The European Network of Physiotherapy in Higher Education (ENPHE) has the aim to bring together physiotherapy educational institutions in the European region. When establishing co-operation between educational institutions, one of the encountered obstacles are the differences in curriculum description, structure and content. This hinders the creation of joint modules and programmes, student and staff exchange, but also obstruct labour mobility.

Logically, ENPHE attempts to clear these barriers and is preparing a document with guidelines for European flexible competence- and creditbased curricula in physiotherapy higher education. ENPHE's Competence Chart is the starting point for this process, describing the subject-specific competences that reflect the core of physiotherapy education in Europe.
