Description:
The book documents the lectures from the Sixth International Symposium on East-West New Testament scholars in Belgrade. These symposia are among the projects of Eastern Europe Liaison Committee of the Studiorum Novi Testamenti Societas. Main theme of the essays is the Holy Spirit in the New Testament, especially in John's Gospel, in Luke's work and in Paul, also the reception of such biblical statements in the patristic theology of the ancient church liturgical history and iconography. Contributions from the seminars treat extrabiblical early Jewish and early Christian texts. All topics are covered from both "western" (Protestant and Catholic) as well as from the Orthodox perspective. An introduction outlines the current New Testament scholarship on the subject and refers to texts and questions that are not expressly covered by the band.
