This volume brings together contributions to the conference "Teaching and Learning in the Age of Reformation", which took place in 2009 in the Research Library Gotha. Starting from the period of transition between the late medieval and humanistic teaching new approaches to the Consolidation of education in postreformatorischer time different forms of learning provision and acquisition of education are presented. It not only interested in the content taught, but also the methods of teaching and the features that should meet the acquired knowledge. In the view taken the training in the classical languages, in natural philosophy, in Protestant theology and music lessons, each taking into account various institutions at which the relevant disciplines were located (from the monastery to the university) as well as various media and forms of discourse in where teaching and learning took place (from textbook to the defense).
