This volume documents a conference about remembering and forgetting in the early postexilic Judah, held 2011 in Munich. The presentation will cover the issue under a methodological point of view and based on case studies. The texts examined are from the prophecy, the Pentateuch, the historical books, the Psalms and Lamentations. All the examples have in common that the memory of history and its related view of the future is based on a conscious or unconscious selection that includes a forgetting of the past.
