This volume contains the papers read and discussed at the symposium "State and Minories: National Processes in Russia and Scandinavia". The symposium was sponsored by the Russian Academy of Sciences, Ural Branch, in cooperation with the Government of the Sverdlovsk Region and the Swedish Royal Academy of Letters History and Antiquities and was held in Ekaterinburg, Russia, in March 1996.
