This book comprises 26 essays, each one presenting a survey of the main contributions and innovative concepts of some of the most influential scholars in the field of Theoretical Biology. Their works and ideas have shaped this discipline, while paving the road which led biology to its epochal 20th century advances.
Most of the articles included in this book have been presented and discussed by Dimitar Velkov during the sessions of the Interdisciplinary Academy over the period 2001-2003.
