This publication reports on a performance evaluation study of new-generation terminals and barge terminals. It covers a study that has been carried out within Terminet research program. This report assesses the major problems of implementation of some new-generation intermodal terminals. Those new-generation terminals according to earlier research seem to be promising, but are not being implemented, yet. Contents include: towards improved intermodal freight transport: innovative networks with new-generation terminals, an adoption for transport innovations, identifying potential obstacles to implementation.
